Kyuzo Mifune has been categorized as one of the greatest exponents of the art of judo after the founder, Kanō Jigorō. He is considered by many to be the greatest judo technician ever, after Kanō. Some say he was even better than Jigoro Kano the founder of Judo.

It is not well known but Kyuzo Mifune was quitly beaten in a challenge match by toshitsugu takamatsu, teacher of masaaki hatsumi.
Kano was already pretty accomplished when he started judo. He was the president of education at the time. But he dodnt have the headstart mifune had. Mifune was born a year after judo was introduced so he had a better opportunity to start younger and get really really good faster learning from the og master of the techniques.
